RESIDENCE LES EUCALIPTUS (Caltur)
A cosy studio apartment with two collapsible couches in the living-room and a detached bedroom that contains two bunk beds. The kitchen is located in the anteroom and fully equipped with indispensable kitchenware. The bathroom contains a tub and WC is detached. The apartment is functional for a maximum of 2 couples and 2 two children. Great for those who stay with children. Around the building there is a lot of verdancy and an orderly garden. The apartment is located 60 metres far away from a wonderful sandy beach from which one can see picturesque mountain ridges as well as the old city of Calvi with its historical Citadel in which Christopher Columbus was born. Nearby there are an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, numerous beach restaurants. It is just 20 minutes on foot to get to the nearest supermarket „Casino”. In the distance of 150 metres one can find a rental of water and scuba-diving gear. Along the beach there is a narrow-gauge railway that can take you to the very city center and vicinities. It stops at the entrance to the beach and the retaurant Le Belgodere which we recommend. If you have a car we recommend you to go on an all day long trip to Porto, through a picturesque itinerary with glittering red rocks.

A tourist city with an abundant offer for lovers of sailing, windsurfing, horse ride, scuba diving and bike trips. One can admire water glittering with the sun on the Bay of Calvi, at the same time the peak of Monte Cinto (2706 m) as well as over 20 kilometres of mountain massif covered with snow from the beginning of July. A very long sandy beach as well as the bay shielded against the sea make up a wonderful bath place, not only for children. The city also offers a lot of culture available in summer: jazz festival, wine festival, polifonic music and at the end of tourist season wind festival for sailors during which sail-boats for all over the world arrive. On the granite premontory there is the Citadel surronded with massive genua fortifications. Above the gate that leads to the Citadel there are inscriptions etched in 1562 which say: Civitas Calvi semper Fidelis and this states about loyalty to Genua. The Palace of Governors founded in the 13th century and enlarged in the 16th century is now adapted as the barracks of the French Foreign Legion. On the Citadel there is also a house which according to local accounts was a birth place to Christopher Columbus. An assembled plate on the house recollects that fact. His bust as well as a sailboat prow embossed out of rocks can be found on the external side of the Citadels wall.
